Friday Field Trip: Lily Pads

K5-6th grade students will be going to the Lily Pads Resale Boutique located at 4471 Progress Blvd., Peru, IL. We will also be visiting the PADS Homeless Shelter located across the street from Lily Pads at 1320 Menards Ave., Peru). We will meet at Lily Pads at 10:30am. We will visit PADS before visiting Lily Pads. At PADS the director will be giving a tour of the homeless shelter and how they help people there. At Lily Pads the manager will be explaining how they organize, repair, and clean donations and how they price things to sell to help raise funds for the homeless people that come to PADS for help. Parents will need to drive their child to Lily Pads/PADS that day and please help chaperone.We will planning on giving a donation of either money or needed items to PADS that day.  We will also be planning  on going to Wendy’s fast food restaurant as a group after visiting PADS and Lily Pads. Mrs. Hamiel can help with transportation for a limited amount of children, but can help arrange transportation with other families going on this field trip if you would like. There will be a permission/participation slip that will be going home with students as this field trip date approaches. This field trip will be from 10:30 – 12:30 or 1:00.
