November Friday Ministry Trip
The NISCE 7th and 8th grade and the High School students have the opportunity to go pack meals at Feed My Starving Children’s packing warehouse located at 555 Exchange Ct., Aurora, IL on Friday, November 19.
The school vans will leave school at 9:45am and return at approximately 3:30pm. (FYI: There is Grandparents/Parents Thanksgiving Program and lunch for the PreK-6th grade students at school that day from 10:30-12:30). Students will need to return a signed permission slip from their parents to go on this ministry field trip. Please fill out the attached permission slip and return it Thursday, November 4th. This is important, for we do need to register the names of those who will be packing food with our group that day as required by FMSC.
Students can bring a sack lunch or bring money for Portillo’s in Aurora for lunch.
We will be raising money for Feed My Starving Children. This is a ministry that sends quality food all over the world to those in great need. This year we will have a little contest between the Jr. High and the High School students to see who can raise the most money from now until Thursday, Nov. 18. The younger classes can contribute to one of the teams that they would like to help win. There will be Team Jr High and Team High School. We will take the money raised in this contest with us when we go to pack food on Friday, November 19.
Parents, you are welcome to drive and bring your child and help out that day. Just let us know beforehand.
Please note that we are to wear close-toe and comfortable shoes, and there is to be no jewelry worn while packing food. If anyone is experiencing symptoms of being ill, then do they should not attend that day. Our body temperature will be taken, and we will have a short verbal symptom screening when we arrive at the warehouse. We will be required to wear a facemask while in the building and a hairnet while packing food.
