Field Trip to the I & M Canal
October 11, 2016/
NISCE students took a field trip on Friday, October 8th to the I & M Canal. Students learned about the canal and how water locks worked. At the canal was silhouettes of historical people, which made a great teaching opportunity. Afterwards the student went to stage 212 in LaSalle and learn the ins-and-outs of theater. They all got to see back stage, the technician’s room, the green room, and prop construction. The field trip ended with a trip to Maze’s nature preserve, where there was a prairie and many wild flowers. This went well with the botany unit that many students are currently learning in science class.
